Sorption Mechanisms and Emission Dynamics of Incineration Residues in Landfills

In this Master's thesis, you will investigate the interactions between municipal solid waste incineration bottom ash, fly ash, wood ash, and sewage sludge ash, and their influence on pollutant release. You will combine laboratory experiments, advanced mineralogical and geochemical analyses, and fieldwork at a landfill site to better understand the underlying processes and develop new approaches for sustainable and environmentally responsible disposal and CO₂ storage. The project is embedded in the applied research programme SENKATO and is carried out in close collaboration with industry partners and regulatory authorities.
