CONTENTS: | This course delivers an introduction to Geographic Information Systems. The basic components and applications of GIS in geosciences are presented with a strong accent on the use of ESRI ArcGis through practical exercises. The students will learn how to use the software in order to organize spatial database, produce maps, extract morphometric parameters of the topography and solve problems related to earth surface dynamic and processes. This course is a prerequisite for the Computer modeling of geological 3D structures module. |
