| Electron Beam Microanalysis: Theory - EMPA, SEM, CL | |
| LECTURERS: | Prof. Dr. A. Berger, Dr. Francesca Piccoli |
| SCOPE: | Introduction into the theoretical ground of electron based analytical techniques |
| HELD AT: | BE |
| CATEGORY: | Analytical Methods and Modelling |
| ECTS Credits: | 2 |
| PREREQUISITES: | |
| REQUISITES: | Mandatory for practical courses in: EMPA, SEM, TEM, CL |
| FORMAT: | Practical course |
| FREQUENCY: | annually in spring semester |
| CONTENTS: | This course gives the theoretical ground on the generation of an electron beam, the electron optics, the interaction of the electron beam with solid-state material and the associated detection and quantification techniques. Based on a variety of examples, the participants will learn, which questions can be addressed by applying these techniques. Note that this theory course is mandatory for the practical introductory classes and use of the individual analytical techniques (SEM, EMPA etc). |
| ASSESSMENT: | Multiple choice examinations |
(prer): Courses with prerequisites.
