CONTENTS:Pore scale simulations is an advanced reactive transport modelling approach used to describe the motion of solvent and solutes in porous and fractured media. In contrast to the so called continuum scale modelling the pore space and the solutes are explicitly resolved in the simulation domain. This allows to model the chemical reactions, ions/solvent transport processes and crystal growth at the mineral fluid interface (dissolution, precipitation, surface diffusion), explicitly and to take into account the evolution of the porosity in the on the fluid transport.
ASSESSMENT:Written Exam/Practical exercise
